IAF all-women's team completes 1,500-km bicycle expedition

A team of nine IAF women officers who undertook an all-women cycling expedition was today welcomed by Air Marshal HB Rajaram, Air Officer-in-Charge (Administration), Air HQs, upon their successful completion of the trip.

The expedition, 'Kshitij-Se-Pare', which was led by Wing Commander Bhavna Mehra, had set off from Pathankot on July 13, 2014.

The team covered a distance of 1,500km through treacherous terrain at altitudes of above 12,000ft and faced sub-zero temperatures and unpredictable weather conditions before reaching Leh, its destination, on August 13, 2014, a release said here.
