IAF, Army XI to fight for Baba Farid Cup title

Indian Air Force (IAF) and Army XI will clash for the Baba Farid Hockey Gold Cup titler here tomorrow.

In the semi-finals played here today, IAF, Delhi beat defending champions Punjab and Sind Bank 4-2, while Army XI outclassed Punjab Police, Jalandhar 5-1.

Punjab and Sind Bank opened its account in the ninth minute through Sukhjeet Singh's field goal.

IAF drew parity in the 20th minute when Lovepreet Singh converted a penalty corner.

IAF then took lead through another penalty corner conversion by Lovepreet to go into the breather with a 2-1 lead.

After tyhe change of ends, IAF scored another goal which came from the sticks of Tanvar.
 

In the 41st minute, Punjab and Sind bank scored reduced the margin.

But Lovepreet scored his third goal of the day to give IAF a 4-2 lead.

Earlier, in the first semi-final today, Army XI Delhi outclassed Punjab Police Jalandhar 5-1.
