The Indian Air Force today came to the rescue of a six-year-old girl who was critically injured in the earthquake that struck Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Muskan, daughter of a labourer from Chhattisgarh, was grievously injured in a building collapse triggered by the quake that shook Kishtwar district at around 1227 hours today.
The civil administration requisitioned the services of IAF to shift the girl to Jammu city for treatment, a defence spokesman said.
The IAF responded promptly and pressed its Cheetah helicopter into service to shift the girl to the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu.
