For 14-year-old Chandan, a terminally-ill bone cancer patient, it was a dream come true.
On the occasion of his birthday, Chandan got the gift he wanted -- being an Indian Air Force fighter pilot for a day.
Chandan has always wanted to become a fighter pilot and an NGO along with IAF made it possible for him to get a taste of being inside a fighter jet.
The boy "earned" his wings yesterday at Air Force Station Ambala after having gone through a "special training" at the flight simulator followed by a 'familiarisation with the aircraft cockpit'.
At the end of the day, he was awarded a flight certificate and also visited the IAF's war memorial and museum where he placed a wreath wearing an IAF uniform.
Chandan, along with his father, today met IAF chief Air Marshal Arup Raha.
