Setting the ball rolling for procurement of 83 Tejas light combat aircraft, the Indian Air Force has issued the request for proposal (RFP) for the acquisition, official sources said today.
The Defence Ministry had cleared the proposal to buy 83 fighter jets from defence PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.
HAL has produced the jets indigenously.
