IAF officer's mobile, laptop stolen

The mobile phone and laptop of a Wing Commander of Indian Air Force were stolen from his residence here, police said today .

The IAF officer registered a complaint with the police on Tuesday when he along with his family returned from his ancestral place.

Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered at Tughlak Road police station.

"A case has been registered in connection with the incident," Additional DCP (New Delhi) Romil Baniya said.

Police said the Wing Commander was posted at the IAF Headquarters and uses Air Force Cellular (AFCEL) mobile, which was connected to IAF's highly secure 3G mobile network.
 

Police is investigating the case from all angles to confirm whether it was just theft or more to it as the officer's laptop and phone may have been used to store sensitive data.
