The court, however, restrained 21-year-old Poulumi from leaving the country without its permission.

Poulumi, was apprehended by the officials at the immigration desk of IGI airport here when she approached them for clearance on Wednesday evening.

Initially after her arrest, she was released on interim bail for a day by the duty magistrate, who had asked her to appear before the court concerned on Thursday.

Taking a lenient view, the judge said that Poulumi is a student and putting her behind the bars will spoil her career. However, the court asked her to remain present before the agency as an when asked by them.

The mother of the accused, Aradhana shukla, is also a senior IAS officer of the UP cadre, presently MD of the UP Land Development Corporation.

Pleading for bail for daughter, her parents, who were present before the court, assured the judge that she will fully cooperate in the investigation.

Police had sought custody for the girl saying she was "uncooperative" during questioning. It pleaded that her custody is required to know the source from where the visa was obtained.

Pradeep Shukla is the prime accused in the multi crore NRHM scam, which took place during the previous Mayawati regime (2007-12). Shukla, then Principal Secretary Health, was arrested by the CBI in May last year but was later granted bail.
