The family of IAS officer D K Ravi on Monday welcomed Karnataka government’s decision to recommend a CBI probe into his mysterious death and voiced hope that truth will come out from the investigation. The family, which had suspected foul play and rejected the suicide theory, promised their cooperation to the central agency.
“My son was son of this country. He was born for the sake of this country, and he fought for this country. He is not just my son, he is son of this country. I asked for it (CBI probe) so that his soul gets peace,” an emotional Gowramma, Ravi’s mother, said. She said, “I had given him for this country, but I lost him. They (the system) lost him, they did not leave him.
“I want the truth to come out. My son’s soul should get peace... Central government (CBI) should give us justice. People should get to know about his true work. This is my request,” she added.

“Truth has to come out, fair investigation has to happen, people of this state and this country should know the truth, this was our demand. Government has accepted our demand and handed over the investigation to CBI. I thank everyone for this,” Ravi’s father-in-law Hanumantharayappa told reporters here.
He said, "Ravi is not a person who could commit suicide. The talk about his suicide cannot be true. CBI has to investigate from all the angles to bring out the truth."
"Our family and Ravi's family will completely cooperate with CBI. Our only intention is that truth comes out, we will cooperate with the CBI investigation," he added.
