Senior IPS officer Rajiv Jain, who is working as Special Director in Intelligence Bureau, was today given apex pay scale of Rs 80,000, thus removing an anomaly in his salary.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved a Home Ministry proposal for granting the apex pay scale to Jain, a 1980 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, with prospective effect, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
The ACC had in May this year given the top pay package to BSF Director General D K Pathak and National Investigation Agency DG Sharad Kumar, both 1979-batch officers of the Indian Police Service.
