Software giant IBM today said it has been ranked the number one in worldwide market share for enterprise social software, for the fifth consecutive year, by research firm IDC.
According to IDC's analysis of 2013 revenue, the global market for enterprise social software applications grew from USD 968 million in 2012 to USD 1.24 billion in 2013.
Today more organisations aspire to become a social business. Leading organisations, including 75 per cent of the Fortune 100, are transforming how they connect, collaborate and get work done using IBM enterprise social software, the US-based firm said in a release.

Virat Kohli to auction a gym session for charity on eBay India * Online marketplace major eBay today said Virat Kohli will auction a gym session on its India portal and the highest bidder will get a chance to work out with the ace cricketer.
EBay India and NGO Save The Children India are setting up a charity auction, from May 6-16, 2014, and the auction will give the winner a chance to burn it out in a gym session with Virat Kohli, it said in a release.
As part of the session, Kohli will work out with the highest bidder and provide valuable inputs on the fitness routine which needs to be followed to stay fit, it added.
The proceeds from this charity auction will be used to educate the less privileged differently-abled children supported by Save The Children India.
Commenting on the auction, Kohli said: "Education plays a vital role in every child's development but unfortunately many children in our country do not have access to it. Moreover, a vast number of children in our nation are deprived of basic health care facilities."

Phophalia to head A&M's foreign & dispute services practice * Professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal today said it has added the forensic and dispute services practice in the country and appointed Dhruv Phophalia to head the new venture.
"With an increase in the complexity of corporate investigations, regulatory enforcement actions and high stakes litigation, forensic services are increasingly becoming a critical business necessity to combat the rising white collar and corporate fraud challenges in the country," it said.
Phophalia has been appointed as managing director to lead the new business.
He has been picked from rival Deloitte, where he was working as the senior director (partner) and led its anti-bribery and corruption consulting service in India, the release said.
