"The celebration is being organised keeping in view their immense contribution for promoting use of science for the welfare of farmers", ICAR said in a release today.

ICAR Institutes and Krishi Vigyan Kendras across the country are organising various farmer awareness programs aiming to showcase and demonstrate new technologies for enhancing agriculture productivity and profitability, it said.

Progressive farmers who have successfully adopted latest technologies and have made contribution in their wide-scale adoption will be honoured.

To attract students towards agriculture, essay writing competition, debates, group discussion, quiz competitions etc. will also be arranged in schools and colleges, it added.
