The International Cricket Council (ICC) has delayed a decision on the future of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) until December this year.

At its recent annual meeting in Melbourne the ICC members discussed at length the future of the ACC and whether it was serving any purpose other than distributing development funds in the region.

"A final decision on disbanding the ACC has been differed to December but for the time being since N Srinivasan has taken over as Chairman of the ICC, the Sri Lankan board President has been elected to head the Asian body," a source in the Pakistan Cricket Board said.

The ICC members, the source said, discussed the working of the ACC and the distribution of development funds in the Asian region under the new financial model of the ICC.

"Majority of the members are not in favor of continuing with the ACC which has its headquarters in Singapore and the feeling is that the ICC should directly distribute development funds among the deserving nations," the source added.
