The ICC World Cup trophy preview ceremony was held here today.
The event at KIIT Stadium was part of exclusive preview road shows across the country before the tournament kicks off in New Zealand and Australia in February 2015.
A colourful cultural programme was held before the ceremony. Reliance Communications is the Global Partner for ICC World Cup 2015. Reliance Communications Odisha Circle has brought the prestigious ICC World Cup to KIIT Stadium, a press release said.
Commenting on this partnership, Gurdeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Consumer Business, Reliance Communications Limited, said, "As a 'Global Partner' of ICC until 2015, we are proud to be associated with the most popular game in the country, which has also been growing in popularity worldwide."
On this occasion, Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS was felicitated by Reliance Communication.
Expressing his satisfaction Dr Samanta said, it was a matter of pride for KIIT & KISS that Reliance Communication had chosen KIIT Stadium for World Cup trophy preview ceremony in Odisha for the first time. KIIT and KISS have always patronised various sports and games including cricket. Members of Team India had visited KIIT & KISS earlier, he added.
Reliance Communications also announced a series of service offerings for its customers for the forthcoming World Cup as a part of the partnership for the 11th edition of the tournament, which is scheduled to be held from February 14 to March 29, 2015.
