Indian Council of Food and Agriculture (ICFA) today inked an agreement with Borlaug Institute of South Asia (BISA) for development of farm sector in South Asian countries.
A memorandum of agreement (MoU) has been signed for three years. Both organisations will jointly mobilise resources and technologies to provide assistance to farmers in South Asia, the city-based farm body ICFA said in statement.
ICFA and BISA will work in the area of rural development, agriculture and food, implementing programmes on food security, environmental sustainability and accelerating the growth in farm productivity and agri-business.

The motto is also to provide assistance to farmers and agri-entrepreneurs by addressing their technology, marketing and financing related issues, it added.
BISA, set up by International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CIMMYT), has three centres- one each at Punjab, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
