ICSI to organise three-day convention

With the theme of 'Make in India', apex body of company secretaries ICSI will organise a three-day national convention here starting tomorrow.

The conference would also deliberate on ease of doing business, skill development and entrepreneurship, among other topics.

Talking to reporters here today, ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India) President Atul H Mehta said the convention would focus on various issues related to 'Make in India' initiative.

The theme for the convention is 'Make in India -- Innovate, Excel and Grow'.

About the Companies Act, 2013, Mehta said there are a lot of challenges in its implementation and a committee set up by the government is looking to address the issues.
 

There are directions from the Prime Minister's Office to ensure that companies law is easy to follow, he added.

The Corporate Affairs Ministry, which is implementing the Act, has set up a high-level panel to address various related to this law.

According to Mehta, investment climate in the country is very good.

The company secretaries play a very important role, especially in advising companies on various compliance aspects, he added.
