Idols worth Rs 3 crore seized, three held

Three persons were today arrested and seven panchaloha (five-metal alloys) idols of deities worth Rs 3 crore were recovered from them, police said.

The accused were intercepted during a vehicle check drive at Hunter Road here, Warangal Urban Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu said.

The trio were identified as Thejavath Ramesh alias Ajmeera Ravi alias Joutham, resident of Annampally village of Mulugu mandal, Rangaiah of Vadlakonda village of Parthagiri mandal and M Mahender of Venkatapur mandal of Warangal in Telangana, he said.

"There are total seven idols and their estimated value in the market is Rs 3 crore," Sudheer Babu added.
