Gujrat High Court today issued a notice to the state government on the anticipatory bail petition of Vipul Chaudhary, chairman of Mehasna-based Doodhsagar Dairy, in connection with an alleged Rs 22 crore cattle-feed scam.
Chaudhary has challenged the order of the Mehsana district court which rejected his anticipatory bail plea.
"There is no such irregularities as alleged by the probe agency, as the petitioner has all the records regarding the donation (of cattle feed to drought-hit areas in Maharashtra)," his lawyer, advocate N P Chaudhary, argued.

Last year, two members of Doodhsagar Dairy filed a petition in the High Court alleging a large-scale scam. They alleged that Chaudhary donated 22,500 metric tonnes of cattle feed to Maharashtra without approval of the board of directors.
He wanted to get political mileage from the donation, the petition accused. The HC then directed the state government to probe the matter; crime branch of Mehsana police and the cooperative department conducted the probe.
The police had earlier arrested accountant-general manager and managing director of Dudhsagar Dairy in the case, both of whom last month got bail from the High Court.
