An improvised explosive device (IED), suspected to be planted by NDFB(S) terrorists, was today recovered in Chirang district by a joint team of Army, police, and the SSB.
The IED weighing 9-10 kg was recovered by the team after getting information from the intelligence wing of the Army, a Defence statement said.
It was placed on track leading from Matonga Bazar to Kuighat and was destroyed by the Bomb Disposal Team of Army, the statement said.
The recovery of the IED has averted a major incident and dealt a blow to the nefarious designs of terrorists, especially of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit), it added.
