A senior IFFCO official was today killed allegedly when he got trapped in a machine while supervising its repair work at Phulpur here, police said.
V K Saxena (51), Senior Manager (Electrical) at IFFCO's Phulpur unit, was killed in the mishap. The police was informed about the incident by his wife, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Shanker Prasad said.
"Investigations have revealed that the mishap occurred at the fertilisers plant's unit which was shut for past one month as the machinery was beyond repair," he said.
The victim had gone their to inspect the repair work. It is not clear what type of machine he had got trapped in, the DSP said.
The body has been sent for postmortem and the matter is being probed, he added.
