IFFI to pay tribute ot Manna Dey and Ravi Shankar

Legendary singer Manna Dey, who passed away recently, will be honoured with a special tribute along with Pandit Ravi Shankar at the 44th International Film Festival of India to be be held in Goa from November 20 to 30.

As per the festival tradition, IFFI pays tribute to noted film personalities who passed away in the year preceding the festival.

In the 'Homages' section, IFFI invites the family members, friends and well-wishers of the personalities to attend the screenings of the artists' best work.

Officials said that this year, IFFI will also pay homage to some leading artistes like director Rituparno Ghosh, actress Sukumari, music composer Lalgudi Jayaraman besides Dey and Shankar.
 

In the international section IFFI will pay respects to film personalities including Japanese film-maker Nagisa Oshima, German born writer Ruth Prawer Jhabwala, South Korean filmmaker Park Chul Soo and Russian cinematographer Vadim Ivanovich Yusov.
