IFFK host workshop on empowerment of women in cinema

A two-day workshop, focusing on the empowerment of women in cinema, will be held here as part of the upcoming International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), the annual state-sponsored movie gala.

The 22nd edition of IFFK,scheduled from December 8 to 15, will organise the unique workshop to facilitate greater participation of women film making talent, a statement said.

The workshop, expected to be participated by over 20 persons, would address funding opportunities, film festival road maps and film packaging, in addition to master classes by industry veterans.

The programme will take place during the course of the festival on December 12 and 13, it said.
 

Festival Director and Chairman of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, Kamal said, "IFFK has always been geared towards providing a platform to filmmakers. We are happy that this year aspiring women filmmakers and technicians get an added focus."

The IFFK Artistic Director and Vice-Chairperson Chalachitra Academy, Bina Paul said the aim of the initiative was to provide informational resources to women film making talent that may help them in their film making journeys.

Applications for the workshop are now online and interested applicants and interested applicants can download and apply, the release added.
