IFFK: Seven films in 'Indian Cinema Now' section

Besides this section, an exclusive section of Indian films, titled 'Top Angle' including movies which had won accolades at various film festivals would also be screened at the IFFK, sources at the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, the organisers of the event, said.

'Chitrangada' (The Crownish Wish/Bengali) by Rituparno Ghosh, 'Cosmic Sex' (Amitabh Chakraborty-Bengali), 'Samhita' (Sumitra Bhave-Sunil Sukhtandar/Marathi), 'Shabdo' (Sound/Kaushik Ganguly/Bengali), Tears of Nandigram (Sarfaraz Alam Shyamal Karmakar/Bengali), 'Cheeka' (The Crier/ Adeyapartha Rajan/Hindi) and 'Bandhon' (Waves of Silence/Jahnu Barua/Assamese) are the films included in the 'Indian Cinema Now' section.

In the 'Top Angle' category, '500x5' (Tamil/Reghu Jegnathan), 'Deool' (Marathi/ Umesh Vinayak Kulkarni, 'Drapchi' (English/Arvind Iyer), 'Miss Lovely' (Hindi/Ashim Ahluwalia), 'Koormavatara' (Kannada/Girish Kasaravali), 'The Ballad of Rustom' (Hindi/Ajitha Suchitra Veera) and 'Touring Talkies (Marathi/Gajendra Ahire would be screened.

 

Seven films would also be screened in the 'Malayalam Cinema Today' section, the sources said.
