Warning from the Rajasthan High Court notwithstanding, Asaram Bapu, accused of sexual assault on a teenaged girl, talked to the media here even as trial in the case failed to progress on Saturday as the investigation officer did not turn up.

Despite the high court warning him to keep his mouth shut in front of the media, Asaram turned to the media and alleged that the postal department was not delivering letters he claims devotees posted him.

On Friday also, he had claimed before the media that he might be suffering from cancer.

Asaram's followers have been barred from assembling in the court or around the road between the jail and the court during his appearance in the court.

The high court had on September 14 allowed the trial of the case against him in the sessions court, in the court campus instead of the jail court by rejecting the notification for hearing in the jail. On condition that Asaram would appeal to his devotees not to gather in the court to see him and would also not speak to the media.

The trial in the case could not progress on saturday as the counsel for the victim girl said that the last prosecution witness and the investigation officer of the case Chanchal Mishra could not appear in the courton account of some official work at her end.

The trial of the case was then deferred by judge Manoj Kumar Vyas till October 26.
