IGNOU offers programme in Fish Products Technology

In an effort to impart vocational skills to widen employment opportunities, particularly among rural youth, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is offering distance learning programme in Fish Products Technology.

The distance learning programme has been developed with financial support of the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries.

The aim of the programme is to inculcate vocational and entrepreneurial skills to widen employment opportunities, particularly among rural youth and the disadvantaged sections of society and also for self-employment, IGNOU said in a release today.

The programme also caters to trained manpower requirements of the food processors, skilled workers, technicians in the food processing industries, NGO functionaries, trainers, entrepreneurs, post harvest, food processing departments of the states, central, rural educators, farmers, quality control implementation agencies.
 

The minimum duration of the programme is one year and can be applied for after higher secondary.
