The committees have been asked to report to IGNOU by October this year, said officials in HRD Ministry.
The committees were set up by the present VC following a resolution passed by the university's board of management at a meeting on May 31. It stated that only those MoUs will be retained which are within the mandate of IGNOU.
Minister of State for HRD D Purandeswari had said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha that community college scheme, according to the resolution, would also be subjected to time-bound review.
CBI is already conducting an investigation against former IGNOU VC V N Rajasekharan Pillai for granting extension of recognition to Punjab Technical University in Jalandhar and Sikkim Manipal University in alleged violation of MoU.
Recently, certain alleged irregularities in signing of MoU between IGNOU and Shri Angala Parmeshwari Education Trust in Chennai have also emerged, following which the HRD Ministry has instituted an inquiry into the issue.
