Indian Golf Union has named Aman Raj, current leader of the IGU men Order of Merit and Viraj Madappa, to represent the country at Taiwan Amateur Golf Championship to be held in Taiwan from tomorrow.

Raj, 19, who won the Southern India Amateur in Bengaluru earlier this month and Madappa, 17, winner of 2015 IGU Haryana Amateur Open are hoping to take advantage of their good form at the four-day stroke play championship against Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, China and Taiwan.

Patna-born Raj who played the practice round at the par-72 Sunrise Golf & Country Club among 70 players today, said, "I am hopeful of a good performance but I will quickly need to adjust my game according to the changing weather at the course. So a proper course management plan is the need of the hour and then I can hope for the best."

Kolkata's Madappa who finished as runner-up at Faldo Series in China in March this year said, "It's our first time in Taiwan and we are really excited about playing at this World class resort as it has hosted several LPGA tournaments in the past. The greens are pretty quick and undulating so I have got to hit it in the right places and if it rains like it happened on the last four holes today, the course conditions will become tougher.
