India Handloom Brand (IHB) products were launched for the first time in the city today marking its entry in the country's eastern region.
"IHB's first home product stores are already operational in four major metro cities of Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Chennai. Today's launch marks the entry of IHB in the eastern market," Development Commissioner (Handloom) Alok Kumar said.
In the city the products of IHB, which promote traditional hand woven heritage of the country and at the same time assure quality product to the consumer, will be available at Tantuja branch in Salt Lake in the city, which was inaugurated during the day.
Kumar said IHB products are getting very good response from its customers and markets and in continuation the same IHB product has recorded Rs 18.68 crore sales over the past five months till May 31.
