IIFT completes summer placements

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), under the commerce ministry, today said it has completed summer placements for its 2017-19 batch with an average stipend of Rs 1.37 lakh.

Summer placement this year has witnessed participation from a large number of companies from diverse sectors and industries, IIFT said in a statement.

"Nearly 65 per cent of the batch (of 282 candidates) was offered a six-figure stipend," it said, adding ITC continued to hire in good numbers.

Few of the brand leaders that recruited students this year include HUL, ITC, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Godrej Industries, Marico, Shell, GE, Dabur, Google, Amazon, Citibank and Axis Bank, it added.
 

The Tata group (Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata International and TCS) made a total of 14 offers, it said.

It said as many as 16 students got international roles across Middle East, Africa, Europe, Singapore and Indonesia.

Manoj Pant, Director of the IIFT said : "Completion of quality summer placement is the result of a rigorous talent selection policy, grooming of students by industry leaders and talented research oriented faculty, teaching industry relevant courses and alumni support".
