As part of its golden jubilee celebrations, the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) released 'Vision 2024', setting out its future objectives, at a function here last night.
It also launched Asia's first International Journal of Packaging Technology and Research on the occasion. The 2024 Vision document and the International Research Journal were released by Union Commerce Secretary Rita Teotia, ISRO Professor B N Suresh and Additional Secretary, Union Ministry of Commerce, R R Rashmi, IIP said in a release here today.
The Vision 2024 of IIP envisages promotion of exports by creating good packaging of products.

The Body Shop eyes 'truly sustainable' tag * British beauty brand The Body Shop, which has completed 10 years of its operations in India, is aiming to become a 'truly sustainable' brand through a series of steps, including reducing carbon footprint through focus on its new global programme 'Enrich not Exploit'.
"We have decided to become a truly sustainable company, with no impact on environment and a positive impact on people around us," Christopher Davis, International Director (CSR), The Body Shop International, told PTI.
The company has set 14 targets to be achieved by 2020, including doubling community trade, building bio-bridges and powering all its stores with renewable energy. In order to expand its footprint in the country, Body Shop is planning to open up to 20 stores in India this year.

Vakrangee, HDFC ERGO in distribution pact
Vakrangee Ltd, a network of technology driven last- mile retail points-of-sale, and HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company entered into a Corporate Agency agreement for distribution of the latter's products.
While the private sector non-life insurance company will be able to leverage distribution network of more than 26,000 outlets of Vakrangee, including areas currently not served or under-served, the technology company will have added range of quality product to offer through its vast distribution network.
