IIT, AIIMS in Bhubaneswar sign pact for collaborative research

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) here signed an agreement with AIIMS- Bhubaneswar on Monday for collaborative research and academic interaction among their faculty and scientists.

The memorandum of understanding was signed between the two premiere institutes in presence of Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal 'Nishank' who also held an interaction with officials of central institutes.

The agreement will facilitate sharing of research information, and joint supervision of doctoral and post-graduate students of the two institutes for research programmes.

The minister stressed that there is a void in the form of interdisciplinary research work and said that he is looking forward to fruitful outcomes from the collaboration.

 

All institutes should complement each other's work as a team and collaborate for meaningful outcomes in the interest of the society and an agreement between the IIT and the AIIMS is a good start, he added.
