Around 25 proposals on exploring alternate energy, that also include investment offers, will be submitted to Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar tomorrow during the annual IIT-Bombay alumni business forum which kicked off here today.
IITB Alumni Association (IITBAA) chairman Bakul Desai said that participants will be presenting the proposals to Parrikar in an interaction.
IITians will deliberate on exploring alternative energy frontiers, which happens to be the focus of this year's conference, he said.

He said that plans differ from solar energy to harnessing wind energy in the coastal state.
"Some of the proposals can be implemented in the country as whole, but will be submitted to Parrikar as he is considered one of the most intelligent persons in country's polity. The delegates have also come up with the solutions to reduce energy consumption in the high energy consuming industrial set-ups," the IITBAA chairman said.
He said that highlight is to address the need of electricity in the rural parts, where power consumption is lesser than urban areas.
"There is no power shortage in urban areas though the consumption levels are higher. The proposals will be submitted to set up plants in the rural areas," Desai said, adding that solutions will be offered so as to make solar energy affordable compared to coal.
