IIT-Delhi alumnus donates Rs 10 crore for sports complex

An alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi has donated Rs 10 crore for the construction of a sports complex on the campus.

Saurabh Mittal, who was one of the co-founders of the India Bulls group, received his B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering in 1995.

He subsequently received his MBA degree from Harvard Business School in 1999 where he was elected as a Baker Scholar.

Mittal, who is presently the chairman of Mission Holdings, his private investment vehicle headquartered in Singapore, was in the national capital and presented a cheque of Rs 10 crore to IIT-Delhi Directer V Ramagopal Rao, an official from the institute said.
 

The proposed sports complex which will be named as "Mittal Sports Complex" is likely to be completed by next year and an expenditure of Rs 22 crore is likely to be incurred on its construction.
