IIT Delhi student drowns in Ganga

A student of IIT Delhi, originally hailing from Bihar, was allegedly drowned after he came for a bath at Shukratal in the district alongside the Ganga river, police said today.

The 23-year-old student Omprakash was accompanied by some of his friends from the premier institute, who had come there to participate in some religious practice, when the alleged mishap took place last evening.

The body of the student was recovered, police said.
