IIT-J launches programme to encourage young entrepreneurs

To harness the innovative ideas of young entrepreneurs, IIT Jodhpur has come out with a talent promotion scheme, under which candidates selected from across the country will work together on developmental issues.

Under the Rs 1.5 crore-programme funded by the Rajasthan government, as many as 11 selected groups from across the country will be assisted in bringing about suggestions to create a suitable atmosphere for entrepreneurship in the country, IIT-J Director Prem Kumar Kalra said.

"We will provide them all facilities at our campus and incubate them in realisation of their ideas and concepts to create an atmosphere of entrepreneurship in the country," Kalra said.
 

Chairman of the board of governors Goverdhan Mehta said the project seeks to bring feasible ideas of the students and people to the market and the society, so that their benefits can be extended to the masses.
