IL&FS bags Rs 222.7 crore RE contract in Jharkhand

IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company today said it has bagged a contract worth Rs 222.7 crore for rural electrification works in Jharkhand.

The company has received Letter of Intents (LOIs) for rural electrification (RE) works of Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam worth Rs 222.7 crore in Jharkhand under the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), it said in a statement.

The scope of work includes supply and erection of all equipment and materials related to the contract for rural electrification infrastructure development for connecting unconnected house-holds, agricultural feeder segregation, system strengthening and metering works.

This contract is expected to be completed in 24 months.
 

IL&FS is currently executing rural electrification works worth more than Rs 1,290 crore that involves works electrifying around 9,000 villages.
