Illegal arms manufacturing unit busted in Manipur

Manipur police have busted an illegal gun manufacturing unit at Langol games village here and arrested two persons in connection with it.

A police team yesterday raided a house in the area and found a man manufacturing a pistol, they said.

The security forces had been maintaining a tight vigil in the area after reports of firing came to light from the locality, police said.

Another man, present in the house, confessed to have fired some rounds, police said, adding that both of them were arrested.

Two country made pistols, equipments used in gun manufacturing, 97 letter heads with "Terrorist Revolutionary Army" printed on it, and a computer set were seized from their possession, police said.
 

Two owners of a computer shop, where the letter heads were printed, were also arrested from New Checkon area here, they said, adding that investigation is underway.
