Illegal arms seized, two held

Two men have been arrested for allegedly supplying sophisticated illegal arms in the national capital, police said today.

Mohammad Ashu and Parvej, both residents of Dasna, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh were arrested by the Crime Branch on August 19, according to police.

Three pistols of .32 bore along with 10 live cartridges of the same bore and another .315 bore weapon along with 2 live cartridges were seized from their possession.

"An input was received that a gang is indulging in the sale and supply of illegal arms and ammunition in NCR. It was revealed that illegal weapons are being manufactured in Munger, Bihar and Dhar, Madhya Pradesh and supplied to local criminals of Delhi and NCR through Parvej and Ashu," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
 

During investigation the duo disclosed that they used to purchase these automatic pistols from one Nadeem, who is a resident of Hapur, Uttar Pradesh at Rs 25,000 per pistol and sell it at Rs 30,000, police said.
