manufacturing unit was unearthed and its owner, suspected to be making guns for Maoists, arrested by security personnel in Odisha's Kandhamal district, official sources said today.
The factory was raided near Raliguda village during a joint combing operation by police and CRPF, B S Punia, Sub-Collector of Balliguda said.
Judhister Mallick, said to be its owner, was arrested and some gun manufacturing apparatus and equipment were seized from the spot yesterday, he said.
Mallick, a resident of the neighbouring Haripur village, had come to Raliguda a couple of months ago and had allegedly set up the factory, sources said.
It is suspected that Mallick produced weapons for supply to the Maoists.
