Three persons were arrested and illicit liquor was seized from their possession in separate places in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district, police said today.
The police personnel conducted a raid at Dessian Village in the district and seized 10 litres of country-made liquor, 20 litres of lahan (raw material used for manufacturing illicit liquor) and arrested one person in this connection last evening, a police officer said.
A case under the Excise Act has been registered in Police Station, Ghagwal and further investigation is going on, he said.
In another incident, police conducted raids in Randma and Rarian villages in the Ramgarh area of the district and arrested two persons and two litres of illicit liquor and 46 pouches of illicit liquor (180 ml) and 11 pouches of illicit liquor (250 ml) were seized from their possession, police said.
