Illicit liquor worth nearly Rs two crore, bound for Gujarat, was today seized from two trucks in Rajasthan's Dholpur district, police said.
As many as 2,500 liquor cartons were recovered from the trucks on the Agra-Mumbai national highway in Mania area of Dholpur by the police on a tip-off, they said.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the liquor cartons were loaded in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh and were to be delivered in Gujarat, where Assembly elections are underway, police said.

Driver of the truck Sunil Sharma, was arrested, while his aide managed to flee, Superintendent of Police, Dholpur, Rajesh Singh said.
In a separate incident in Sikar district, 45 cartons of illicit liquor were recovered from a car, police said.
The car and the liquor were seized, they said.
The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot, a police officer said.
