ILS Hospitals, Salt Lake today claimed to have received Surgical Review Corporation of USA, accrediation for Bariatric surgeries.
"This is the first hospital in the eastern region to receive the accrediation of SRC as center of excellence inmetabolic & Bariatic surgeries," ILS managing Director Om Tantia said here today.
He said it was unfortunate that still bariatric surgeries are considered as cosmetic surgeries by the insurance companies.
Tantia said there were numerous studies and papers that claim that metabolic and Bariatric surgeries are like curing a diease and it reduces threat of several life threatening ailments.
He said several politicians, well known personalities had undergone this surgery and the pocket pinch is around Rs 2.5-2.7 lakh.
