Referring to the attack on doctors on duty in the emergency ward of Tata Main Hospital (TMH) here two days ago, Mritunjay Singh, Secretary of IMA, Jamshedpur chapter said the physicians were working under unsafe atmosphere as such incidents were taking place regularly.

Singh, also the President of 'Jharkhand Contractual Doctors Association,' said while doctors on duty were assaulted by relatives of a patient on charges of negligence the patient had expired on way to the hospital.

Regretting that the doctors community have become a soft target as people want them to issue death certificate even for unnatural deaths without formally registering with the police, Singh demanded for adequate security to the doctors.
