IMA Jamshedpur branch condemns police brutality on Kanpur docs

The Jamshedpur branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) today condemned the brutality and atrocities committed on doctors by the police and politicians and expressed solidarity with national IMA and doctors of GSVM Medical College, Kanpur.

A delegation of IMA Jamshedpur branch here led by its president Dr K P Dubey and secretary Dr Mritunjay Singh met the Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum, Dr Amitabh Kaushal and handed over a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister demanding that the Government of Uttar Pradesh must take suitable remedial measures by today as demanded by the National body.

IMA Jamshedpur branch here will join the nation-wide token strike tomorrow, if the government failed to address the demands,
 

IMA functionaries said the doctors will take out a peaceful candle-march later in the day to apprise the public about the atrocities committed by the police and administrative authorities against doctors in Kanpur recently.

The doctors will continue with their routine work wearing black badges in protest and condemnation of the Kanpur incident, they added.
