"We demand that Inter-Ministerial Committee be constituted and given powers to recommend final resolution of the PoK refugees as per their aspirations," party's state chief Mohinder Singh told reporters here today.
He welcomed the raising of demands of refugees by Congress delegation led by its state president Saifuddin Soz with Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
"We also demand from central and dtate governments that PoK refugees of 1947 be treated as other internally displaced lot for cash benefits, reservation for wards of refugees in the technical institutions, special employment package till permanent one-time settlement of this class is decided and implemented," he said while drawing attention to the "plight" of 12 lakh PoK refugees.
