A man has been arrested here for

allegedly attempting to cheat a lawyer by posing as Personal Assistant to Health Minister Rajendra Rathore, police said today.

The accused, identified as Jasmuddin, called the lawyer Vinod Singh on his mobile and introduced himself as Narendra Singh, the PA to the health minister, Investigating Officer Himmat Singh said.

The imposter also asked a doctor, who is treating Vinod Singh's senior Bhawani Singh, to take good care of him.

Soon after, the accused called Vinod Singh again and said that he urgently needed Rs 3,000. They agreed to meet near the district court's gate.
 

The two met at the decided location where Jasmuddin asked Vinod to give him the money.

When Vinod and other lawyers enquired the accused, he failed to establish his identity as said earlier, following which he was handed over to the police, the IO said.
