A mahapanchayat will be organised on March 5 if the recommendations of M S Swaminathan Commission report on agriculture are not implemented as promised by BJP in its poll manifesto during the Lok Sabha and the Assembly elections, Kandela Khap chief Tekaram Kandela said today.
"BJP had promised that if it came to power, it will implement the recommendations of the Commission. So far the government has not done anything.
"If not implemented soon, a mahapanchayat will be held in Peepli village on March 5 to discuss all the issues and we will decide on launching an agitation against the government," he said while speaking to reporters here.
