Impostor held inside Fort William

Army officials have caught an impostor who, posing as a senior army officer was loitering inside the Fort William, headquarters of the Eastern Command, officials said today.

Identified as P K Mitra, the accused was caught clicking photos inside the Fort William yesterday.

Wearing an army officer's uniform, he had claimed he was a major general in the Army.

On interrogation by army and the police, it was found that his father is a retired defence officer.

Officials said he had been visiting various civil clubs and other civil institutions claiming to be a major general in the Army.
