All India Mahila Congress chief Anita Verma today said the organisation's Rajasthan unit needs to be strengthened and office-bearers not functioning properly will be removed.

She asked the Mahila Congress workers in poll-bound Rajasthan to expand their network with a view to strengthening the organisation in the state.

Verma, who attended a meeting of office-bearers of the Rajasthan Mahila Congress here, said inactive office-bearers and workers will be removed.

"The office-bearers not found working properly will be dropped," she said.

"The state unit needs to be strengthened and in this regard I have directed the office-bearers to meet workers from ground to assembly-level across the state," Verma said.

District and block-level representatives of the Mahila Congress attended the meeting.

"I also asked the office-bearers to create awareness in public about schemes of the UPA government especially for women," she said.

Newly-appointed state president of the Mahila Congress Shakuntala Rawat was present at the meeting.
