Incessant rains in the city and adjoining area since the last 24 hours hit normal life here, crippling traffic and inundating several low-lying area in northern and eastern parts, officials said.
Rainwater flooded many low lying areas in north and eastern part of the city, which recorded 74.2 mm rainfall till 9-30 am today.
Vehicular traffic was disrupted in several areas due to flash floods caused by continuous showers.

The Ambjhari lake in the south-western part of the city was overflowing and a large number of enthusiasts had gathered there to enjoy its beauty.
In Wardha, about 31 gates of Uppper Wardha irrigation Dam were opened to release the water, official sources said.
According to Regional Meteorological Centre, the rains or thunder showers may continue throughout the region for three to four days.
Nagpur city has recorded 790.07 MM rains during the season while Nagpur district received 666.8 mm.
