Press Trust of India Coimbatore
Incidents of fever, particularly swine flu, have drastically come down in the last one week in the district as a result of awareness created by the district administration and health department, a top official in Coimbatore Medical College Hospital said today.

Moreover early summer heat and healthy practices, like washing hands with soap frequently, have also helped bringing down incidents of vector borne diseases, CMCH Dean Edwin Joe said.

As of now, only four swine flu positive cases and 11 with symptoms besides eight dengue and 19 with normal fever are undergoing treatment at the hospital, he said.
